and (according to reports I've read) these will still be based on the current iTunes code. In case this is a reference to the fact that Apple is "killing off iTunes" as widely reported in the media bear in mind the following:ġ/ This applies from the forthcoming version of MacOS named Catalina.Ģ/ iTunes is not simply going to evaporate from Macs whilst they are running existing and previous versions.ģ/ In Catalina there will be separate apps for Music, Podcasts … etc.
I'm only using a MacBook Pro for everything. The song played, but bypassed HQP 3 entirely. When I clicked "ok" on your preference screen I get the error message below appeared.
I did not alter your preference screen as I can't remember from way back if, or how, the preferences out to be set. I followed your instructions regarding launching HQP 3 before your app. Thanks so much for putting your time into this.
I will post this software on my own web-site once I've had some testing feedback here. Then if you subsequently launch my app when HQPlayer is not running and request my app to launch HQPlayer, it will launch the last version that you ran.įor those of you who go between versions 3 an 4 of HQPlayer, you'll need to repeat this exercise (launch the version of HQPlayer you wish to use before launching my app) so again my app can correctly configure itself for the version of HQPlayer being used. This will allow my app to correctly configure itself to the version of HQPlayer you are using. The first time you run this, please launch HQPlayer before launching my app. This new version works with both HQPlayer4Desktop and HQPlayerDesktop (series3). You appear to be making a great start, your hardware is older but it will still give you many years reliable service.I have re-written my iTunes front end to HQPlayer. Meta tags and artwork retrieval are much easer and the “Grid Mode” format is also much better than iTunes, it’s missing the clutter and iTune App store garbage. It is an iTune replacement but does not get in iTunes way. iTunes from the server is shared to all.įor playback software I rip with iTunes but prefer “Swainian”. We have 3 TV’s in the house, each has an older Mac attached, some dating back to 2007. These days I have a 75” monitor on the mini along with a simple Network Assisted Server that is used for whole house back-ups and also ripped DVD movies. Note, I have used an external and currently use an internal with the only difference being a slight bit of speed accessing files, but has never playback is not affected. Also the concert videos on Youtube are very cool. I am 64 and renting music is just not my thing.
Free Youtube music videos! I get to listen to all types of music, if I like I buy it. The monitor opened up a whole new World of music. Later I did something I said I would never do, and that was to add a Monitor. I’ve been using a Mac Mini for years in various configurations: Headless with shared screen to MBP but used daily with an iPad with remote app but the set-up needed a monitor for configuration related issues.
